All tables containing data for this Web site are currently in .wk1 (Lotus) or .xls (Excel) format, readable by most spreadsheet software. To open these files, click on the downloadable file. If your internet browser has been configured to open the appropriate program, the file will begin to download or you may get a dialog box asking if you want to save the file or open it. We recommend opening the file directly and then saving the open file to your hard drive. This way, you can be sure the application is able to correctly read the file before saving it. If your computer does not have or is not configured to open the appropriate program, you will get an Unknown File Type dialog box. One of the button options will read Pick App. Select this option, and you will get another dialog box asking you to browse for the application you would like to read the file. Search for your specific program on your hard drive, and select OK.

Internet Explorer tends to open files within Explorer but in the format of the original program. The formulas are still operable within this format, but you must choose the Save As option to save the file onto your hard drive.

All of the files are in a format that should be accessible by most spreadsheet programs. However, the JABG Formula Computations spreadsheet contains specific formulas to provide interactive computations. This spreadsheet is saved in the Excel format and may not be entirely translatable into Lotus; specifically, one cell in the spreadsheet sums the amount retained by the state from localities under $5,000 and may not be executable by Lotus.
