- Local allocations for each state are provided based on a 75% pass-through of the state's
allocated funds. The spreadsheets are in Excel, and must be downloaded to be used.
Most spreadsheet programs (Lotus, QuattroPro) should be able to open these
spreadsheets. If you have difficulties opening or working with these files, please
e-mail us at jaibg@jrsa.org, and we will work with you
to produce the spreadsheets in a format compatible with the software available to you.
Four
different files are available. The first does the formula calculations, and the
other three summarize the resulting allocations. To download the spreadsheets,
select a link below:
- JABG
Formula Calculations
- This spreadsheet calculates local allocations based on a 75% pass-through amount. You
can change the pass-through percentage, and the spreadsheet will automatically recalculate
the local allocations. Go to Definitions of
Terms and Formulas for an explanation of the entries in this spreadsheet.
- Listing of
Localities and Allocations, Listed by Amount
- This file provides a listing of locality names and allocation amounts, listed in
descending order of allocation amount. This is followed by an alphabetical listing
of localities whose calculated allocations are less than the $5,000 minimum.
- Listing
of Localities and Allocations, Listed by Locality
- This file provides a listing of locality names and allocation amounts, listed in
alphabetical order.
- Listing of
Local Units of Government without Reported Data
- This file provides 3 listings: (1) localities which had no reported crime data and
no reported justice expenditures; (2) localities with no reported crime who had justice
expenditures; and, (3) localities with reported crime but no justice expenditures.
Localities listed under (1) will have no JABG allocations, while those listed under (2)
and (3) may have JABG allocations.
3) Combined Data File

- This data file provides a spreadsheet of combined FBI UCR Crime Data and Census Bureau
Expenditure Data, matched for each locality using FBI and Census Bureau ID numbers.

JRSA obtained the raw BIA expenditure and crime data for 1996, 1997 and 1998.
These data have been averaged and compiled into a spreadsheet. States have
the option of using the data in the formula calculations or separately. For more
