Working with Incident-Based Data in Microsoft ACCESS

Incident-based reporting systems such as NIBRS represent a rich source of data for analysts, but they can be complicated to work with. Rather than using specialized statistical packages, you may find that a familiar desktop program such as Microsoft ACCESS fills your needs.

Reading NIBRS Data into ACCESS
This section walks users through the process of reading NIBRS ASCII data into ACCESS. An executable program is available for downloading. ACCESS 97 and ACCESS 2000 versions are available.
