School Violence in South Carolina 1996 - 1998: An Incident-Based Descriptive Analysis
Prepared by the South Carolina Department of Public Safety Office of Justice Programs
The following are screen captures of the NIBRS Analysis Software extract module
used by South Carolina in the completion of its report.
The first capture is of the first screen of the interface,

followed by the login screen.

The login screen takes you to the introduction screen of the interface,

which then takes you to the selection screens to select offense, offense
data, number premises entered, whether the offense was attempted or completed, the offense
location, what the victim was using, the type of criminal action, and type of weapon.

The interface then prompts the user for the type of output to be produced
and the counting method. For this example, the output was a non-hierarchied data
extraction.

At this point, the user can choose fields to be used in the output.
This example, focusing on school violence, selected offense location, offense code,
offense weapon, victim age, victim sex, victim race, and victim ethnicity.

Finally, a query screen allows the user to choose the types of comparisons
that are completed and the data set used.
