Online Communities

Welcome to JRSA's Online Communities     (Registered Users)

These Communities are intended to foster the exchange of information and ideas among JRSA members and the broader criminal and juvenile justice communities. These Communities are comprised of forums that are divided into two broad categories - JRSA Committees and Communities of Practice.

The JRSA Committee Forums are restricted to JRSA committee members and are intended to facilitate discussions pertaining to the association. Members who are not already on a committee and would like to serve on one, please use the contact us link that is located at the bottom of every page to send us an email. Please remember to indicate your committee preference.

The Communities of Practice are intended to facilitate discussion related to the criminal and juvenile justice fields. These forums correlate with the sequence of events in the criminal justice system ranging from victimization to corrections. If you feel that additional forums would be appropriate, please submit your suggestions using the contact us link.

Username Guidelines:

Your username is a nickname that will identify your account and thereby all of your contributions to these communities. Since these communities are intended to be used by professionals, we are asking users to select user names that adhere to one of the following formats. For example, acceptable user names for "John Smith" would be jsmith or john.smith. While not required, we also encourage user to complete their profiles. Clear user names and completed profiles make it easier for users to identify other members of the community.

Subscribing to a Forum or Topic

The Online Communities are divided into several Forums which are comprised of topics. If you would like to keep up with a forum or topic, you can subscribe to either the entire forum or a individual topic.

If you wish to be notified when anything is posted to a forum, you should subscribe to that forum. To subscribe to a specific forum, click the “Subscribe forum” link, at the bottom of page, upon entering the forum. Committee members should subscribe to their committee's forum to ensure that they do not miss important committee information

If you only wish to be notified when a particular topic in a forum is updated, you can bookmark or subscribe to that topic. You can do so by clicking the appropriate link in the “Topic tools” menu, conveniently located near the top and bottom of a topic discussion. Replying to a topic with the “Notify me when a reply is posted” option checked will also subscribe you to the topic.

Please refer to the FAQ page for more information.
